Winners of the CRE4.12 Tender Competition on 11 July last, AG Real Estate has commissioned Urbasolar to design, build and then operate a solar energy plant to be located on their HAVLOG building. This is the largest logistics platform built from scratch in France and will soon carry the largest rooftop solar energy system of any logistics warehouse.
Located within the towns of Sandouville and Saint-Vigor-d’Ymonville, HAVLOG enjoys a strategic location on the Pont de Normandie Logistics Park 3 (PLPN3) within the port of Le Havre, in direct proximity to its multimodal terminal facility.
This platform, with its enormous capacity of 92,000 m2, illustrates the ambition of AG Real Estate to invest in environmentally-friendly buildings.
« As a real estate business which has made sustainable development one of our priorities, we have been committed for several years now to integrating solar energy systems in our new buildings in order to reduce their carbon footprint and move towards self-provision. This huge project, to be built on HAVLOG by URBASOLAR, represents the largest solar energy production facility installed by AG Real Estate to date. « explains Thibault Delamain, Managing Director of AG Real Estate France in charge of Investment & Asset Management.
The solar energy plant will be fitted with 18,500 panels and produce a power output of 7 MWp. The expected annual production of 7,050 MWh will cover all the electricity needs of the inhabitants of the two towns in which it is located.
« We are delighted with this partnership, which is proof once again of the technical excellence and know-how demonstrated by the Urbasolar group, the top French supplier of very large rooftop solar energy plants. Solar energy systems represent an opportunity for the logistics sector to comply with some of the toughest environmental standards and contribute significantly to the fight against climate change. The Urbasolar group will actively promote the emergence of these kinds of showcase projects. « declared Arnaud Mine and Stéphanie Andrieu, co-founders and directors of the Urbasolar group.
