The Urbasolar group is once again one of the leading winners of the national call for tenders whose results were delivered by the Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development, and Energy.
15 new projects, representing a total capacity of 80 MWp, were distinguished by their innovation, environmental virtues, and economic suitability. The chosen applications are roof-mounted and parking canopy, as well as ground-mounted, power plants.
In the category of parking canopies, the Urbasolar group is the leading awarded company as well as placing third nationally overall.
The total investment for the construction of these new projects will be near 100 million euros and this program will bring the photovoltaic fleet developed, constructed, and operated by Urbasolar to 300 MWp for a total investment of 500 million €. The Urbasolar group, who celebrates their 10 year anniversary in 2016, reinforces its passage to the number one independent French actor dedicated to photovoltaic power.
Beyond the inherent interest of these new projects in terms of innovation and partnership with local governments, Urbasolar is proud to implement this showcase of know-how from all their industrial French partners and, in particular, the French manufacturer of photovoltaic modules Sillia.
This showcase is concurrent with the deployment of French manufacturing for export, piloted by Urbasolar.
Urbasolar also salutes the Minister’s announcement of the implementation of a program over several years of investment for photovoltaic power plants in France, a plan that has been ardently awaited by the industry and which will allow it to make the necessary investments.
In closing, Urbasolar is thrilled with the success of the COP21 and the consequential effects of this agreement on the development of renewable energy whose potential is finally being recognized internationally.
