Urbasolar group, a French specialist in photovoltaic technology, again demonstrated its competitiveness and expertise across all types of photovoltaic applications by winning projects in every solar energy-call to tender, for which the lists of winners has just been published by the French Ministry for Ecological and Inclusive Transition.
By winning 25 new projects in the latest French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) call to tender for photovoltaic parking canopies, roofing, ground-mounted power plant projects on degraded sites, greenhouses, centralized storage, and self-consumption sites, Urbasolar strengthened its positioning across all possible photovoltaic applications. Since the start of 2020, the group has also won an additional 17 MW in the CRE 4.9 Buildings tender, ranking it number 1 in large roofing projects. Since the start of the CRE call to tender in 2011, Urbasolar group has won the most roofing application tenders and parking canopy projects, and won the second-largest tender for ground-mounted power plant projects.
Urbasolar was again placed second in the Power Innovation call to tender this time around, confirming the effectiveness of its Research and Development strategy and the success of its research programs, including those carried out jointly with a French manufacturer over the last few years to manufacture photovoltaic panels in France with high technical and environmental performance. These innovative panels formed part of an eco-design which took into account the entire photovoltaic value chain, enabling savings of between 35-50% on cable and fuse requirements, among others.
In delivering innovative and high-performance solar power plants, Urbasolar strives to deliver projects and structures of renowned technical and environmental quality on a daily basis, furthermore incorporating the best social and ethical practices to meet the specific requirements of each site and the needs of each partner.
The reliability of its projects, the rigorous evaluation of their design and strict compliance with undertakings made, from the inception of projects, to public and private sector partners, means that almost all the projects won by Urbasolar group have been completed and, beyond the outcomes of any tender processes, always constructed and commissioned under the original terms and conditions.
Urbasolar has been a successful bidder for 865 MWs of billable energy in CRE tenders since 2011, including 500 MW to be installed over the next two years.
In total, Urbasolar holds a portfolio of development projects covering 1.7 GWp, mainly in France and Europe.
