This photovoltaic project is a pilot power plant of the Kenyatta University excellence center in Nairobi. Created in partnership with the university, this excellence center will be dedicated to the technical training of Kenyan and East African professionals in photovoltaic technology for the development of the industry. The pilot plant is a combination of offers from French companies on the Kenyatta University campus. A real demonstration platform for innovative technologies, its construction has already provided training for local partners and students. This project is the fruit of a successful partnership between Urbasolar and Kenyatta University, with the support of the economic service of the French Embassy and the French Education Ministry for the transmission of know-how as well as the training of future generations of students in the challenges of sustainable development. The collaboration with Kenyatta University already includes future steps to come with the successive commissioning of a 10 MW power plant and a second 40 MW plant for which the two ministers have already shown their complete support.
