In building this power plant on a CEA site, Urbasolar participated in a collaboration for innovation and responded to one of the biggest challenges of the energy transition: to favor the injection of solar energy production into the local and national girds. CEA Tech settled on the Cadarache site providing several applicable forms of expertise and platforms, dedicated in particular to solar photovoltaics, for its partners. Connected to the local electricity grid, its cutting edge platform, baptized Mégasol, hosts an Urbasolar plant. In permanent connection with the CEA2’s other technological platforms dedicated to solar photovoltaic energy, their batteries, and smart gird systems, the CEA Tech and Urbasolar teams explore new sales models and the development of PV production and implement technological solutions for the management and piloting that derive from this work. This research is the object of a multi-year program between the CEA and Urbasolar, who was brought on board for it.
