Urbasolar is proud to announce the commissioning of the largest photovoltaic power plant on a building in France, located in Beauvais (60). This emblematic project, carried out in partnership with investor Harbert Management Corporation (HMC) and builder PRD, marks a significant step forward in the development of renewable energies in France and demonstrates Urbasolar’s commitment to the energy transition.
A nationwide project
The PRD Beauvais project is the fruit of a successful collaboration between several major players in the sector. PRD, in charge of property development and construction, has designed an innovative logistics platform, ‘PV READY’, for sale to HMC. HMC, which already owns the Pont d’Ain building (also equipped by Urbasolar), has once again confirmed its confidence in the expertise of PRD and Urbasolar to bring this ambitious project to fruition.
Impressive figures
The photovoltaic panels installed by Urbasolar will cover almost 62,000 m² of roof space, making this the largest rooftop solar power plant in France. With a total output of 12.8 MWp, this solar power plant will produce around 12,737 MWh a year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 2,812 French households.
A commitment to the energy transition
The deployment of this photovoltaic plant is in line with the objectives set out in the Energy-Climate Law, which aims to increase the share of renewable energies in the national energy mix. This project underlines the commitment of PRD, HMC and Urbasolar to actively contribute to the energy transition in France.
The expertise of Urbasolar
Urbasolar, one of the French leaders in the photovoltaic solar energy sector, is contributing its recognised technical expertise and know-how to this project. To date, Urbasolar operates more than 700 plants in France and abroad, confirming its position as a key player in the field of renewable energies. The Beauvais plant will benefit from the most advanced technologies and the highest quality standards, guaranteeing optimum performance and exceptional durability.
Commissioning and outlook
The plant began producing its first kilowatt-hours when it was commissioned at the end of July. This project represents a major milestone for Urbasolar and its partners, demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of large-scale rooftop photovoltaic installations. It also paves the way for other similar projects, contributing to the growth of the renewable energy sector in France and worldwide.
